Here’s another great reason to hunt for those lost buoys and explore the parks of York County. The more that you find, the better chance you have to win some great prizes. Did you find all 30 lost buoys? If not, finding just 10 of them wins you a special participation prize.
All GO York Kids who find a minimum of 10 different lost buoys will receive a reward for their participation in the program. In addition, 5 pictures of GO York park locations have been posted at www.goyork.org/mysteryphotos. Each lost buoy found and park picture correctly identified equals 1 point. Anyone who finds more than 10 lost buoys and correctly identifies park pictures increases their chances of winning bigger prizes, as follows:
11-19 points earned = 1 chance to win a grand prize
20-29 points earned =
2 chances to win a grand prize
30+ points earned =
3 chances to win a grand prize
Multiple grand prizes will be available and may include: discount event tickets, electronic devices, sports equipment, and much more. The actual number of grand prizes is subject to availability. Remember though that all GO York Kids who find at least 10 different lost buoys will receive a reward!
You must submit your “rubbings” of each lost buoy in addition to completing the requested information on the tear-out pages in the center of the Water Log in order to be eligible for participation prizes and the grand prize drawing. The four-digit code available at each lost buoy only relates to the online feature of the program. The tear-out pages must be returned to any York County library (locations and hours of operation are listed here) by September 10, 2010 to receive your participation reward and to be eligible for the grand prize drawing. The rest of the Water Log is yours to keep as a reminder of your adventure this summer!
A “live” grand prize drawing will occur at 12pm (noon) on Saturday, October 9, 2010 at West Manchester Mall. This drawing will be conducted in partnership with the York County Library System’s Reading Rainbow event that same day. Although you do not need to be present to win a grand prize, we hope to see you on October 9th at West Manchester Mall.

Healthy Lifestyles Task Force members and their immediate families may receive the participation reward for finding 10 lost buoys. However, they are ineligible for the grand prize drawing.
