Here's what some of our friends and families are saying about their experiences:

Dear York County Coalition,

This is our third year being treasure seekers amongst our county parks. So many people believe you need to leave the area to see the world, but going to the county parks and finding the lost buoys has been a blast. As a mother of four children, we have been goal-oriented, but still taking our time to enjoy the surroundings. The real prize is the family time and being outside.

Thanks for listening to my suggestion about letting us mothers know if the trails are stroller-conducive. I also like the blog. It also helps to have the lost buoy theme name with the driving directions to the park.

We’ve been to five creativity stations at this time and plan to go to twenty. Our whole family enjoys doing this, even Dad, especially Dad.

Thanks for the special snack in the shade at Kline’s Run- yum!

Subject: Creativity Stations

I am a grandmother of 3 now and love doing these creativity stations with them. My children had participated in the reading programs for years and now not only do their children get to participate in the reading programs but they also can learn and enjoy all of the parks in York County. Who ever came up with this should be well recognized it is a great addition to the reading program. The kids love it and we enjoy watching them get excited about the adventures we take every weekend. There is nothing more beautiful then watching children learn and explore. My husband and I enjoyed the time we have spent with our grandchildren exploring parks we never even knew existed, and some old friends we have been to many times with our children and still enjoy, now with our grandchildren. We have even created a photo album to go along with the journeys we have been taking. So here's hoping it continues next year and years to come.

Sincerely,

Hi,

I just want to thank everyone involved in putting together goYork.org. My 4 year daughter and I thoroughly enjoyed going to the parks and finding the creativity stations! We went to parks we'd never heard of, got her excited about nature and exploring, and always stayed to play, eat our packed lunch and explore further! I'm already looking forward to next summer!

Thank you SO much.

York County Libraries and sponsors,

As a mother of two, I am always looking for exciting things to do over the summer months. Last year we had such fun with finding 22 of the 30 letterboxes. This year our goal is 30 of 30! Thanks for providing a summer worth of good, healthy, and cheap fun!

Sincerely,

Tracy B.

This year's creativity stations are a lot of fun. The fact that things are put into the ground lessens the possibility that they will disappear, and the tear off sheet is a big hit. We can keep our book to remember our summer activities and revisit our favorite sights.
